We have made some important changes in the program for Amundsen 2024. Part of these only concern AR350, others concern everyone. All info below, but also sent to you by email.

Last stage AR350 goes from Norråker to Fjällsikten (instead of Strömsund):For various reasons a long time back we started thinking about letting the last stage for AR350 have it’s finish line in Fjällsikten instead of back to Strömsund. It would mean way more interesting and better trails for the contestants (not having to go back partly the same route to Strömsund), fewer road crossings to manage, easier handling for the organization team with just 1 finish AND: more fun & relaxing at Fjällsikten restaurant that would become the race center for all after Norråker. But, we could not go out with this before we knew it was possible. We are delighted to now announce that we made this happen. All Amundsen mushers will now finish at Fjällsikten. Accommodation:For mushers(handlers now spending more time at Fjällsikten: know that the restaurant will be open 24/7 where you can relax and buy food/drinks. But we don’t want sleeping people in the restaurant. For accommodation options, check the webpage or buy a sleeping dorm ticket for 150kr at the race office (bring own sleeping gear). Shower available at the sleeping dorm. Note: sleeping room closes Sunday morning at 08:00hrs. https://www.amundsenrace.com/housing/
No evaluation meeting on Sunday:We love feedback and suggestions for the race, but the meeting on Sunday afternoon wasn’t the best podium for it. Everyone is tired, many didn’t come to the meeting and we wanted to give both you and the organization team a few hours ‘own time’ before the fun part with the prize ceremony starts later in the afternoon. Instead we will send out an online form with questions via mail, which we very much hope you can take the time for and fill out after the race.
Prize ceremony and banquet (+ pub night) at Fjällsikten – Tåsjöberget:The location of the banquet has changed to Fjällsikten instead of Strömsund.
Also we changed the time table for the closing evening:
- Prize ceremony 17:30-19:00hrs. Mandatory for prize winners to be there to claim your prizes; not present = no prize. All finishers receive something to remember their race by.
- Banquet 19:00-21:00hrs. We hope ALL of you stay for the delicious buffet Anders and his team will prepare for you! As you know, mushers get a free banquet ticket and can buy extra tickets for their handers/family. Price for a banquet ticket is the same as last year: 450SEK for adults, children under 6 years free of charge, children 6-12 years 150SEK. Mandatory to bring your tickets to the banquet for entrance.
- This year it will also be possible to buy a nice beer or wine or other alcoholic drink to enjoy with your food (everyone pays at location – cards/swish/cash accepted)
- Pub open 21:00-23:00hrs for those who wish to celebrate with (new made) friends a bit longer
We are aware having the banquet at Fjällsikten means extra driving for mushers that have rented accommodation more in the Strömsund area. But we hope VERY MUCH that you will come and join all of us during the Prize Ceremony and Banquet anyway! 
That’s why we skip the evaluation meeting and the evening program ends an hour earlier. And hey… it’s long distance mushing so you should be accustomed to some travelling! 
Let’s make it a fantastic closure all together for this year’s race at Fjällsikten, where superduper Anders and his team will take care of you the whole weekend.
