2025 AR Trail information

The start is at Hembygdsgården in Strömsund. The trail leads over Ströms Vattudal (lake) to Ulriksfors where we cross the road, from there we follow own trails which will lead towards the snomobile trails over Malmsjön (lake) for several kilometers and further up to the village of Lövberga, where we pass the road E45. After that the route continues on scooter trails passing Järvsand (village). From here after 48 kilometers we climb steeply up to ‘Järvsand berget’ and then back down again for about 10 kilometers to direction Havsnäs (village) and we’re going to climb up steeply again to Brännebacken and then via snomobile tracks to Holmbodarna and then to the wilderness Checkpoint Ursvattnet (Which is located on the lake).

From Ursvattnet we start to climb up to Fattiggårdsbodarna, Kvällknäppen and over Ritjelsberget (mountain) to Alanäset (village), with another road crossing over road 342. From there we cross Trångvattnet (Lake) and follows the old snomobile track further towards Gubbhögen (village), where we’ll cross road 342 again. From Gubbhögen we will cross Flåsjön for about 4 km to Siljeåsen (village). From here we follow our own beautifull trails to Skansnäset (village) where we cross the lake Tåsjö.

NOTE: Until crossing Tåsjö the AR180 and the AR350 will follow the same trail.

After crossing Tåsjö and the road crossing we split with AR180 and go on via the snowmobile tracks to Checkpoint Fjällsikten where the AR180 will go to checkpoint Norråker.

We go out of checkpoint Fjällsikten (Altitude 600m) and follow the snowmobile trail down towards Bellvik where we cross the road and go over Bellvikssjön to Avaträsk via Avaträsksjön. Here we cross Borgavägen (be carefull) and then after 23km we start for 5km steep climing up Avaträskberget. We keep following the snowmobile trail to Svartklippen and direction Blaikfjället for about 10 kilometers. Then we go to the left with some climing for 7km. Then we go back down to Östra-Ormsjö via Kallkällmyran. At Östra-Ormsjö after 52km we cross the lake (Ormsjö) and we follow the snomobile track with some 5km climing up. After a few kilomters we leave the snowmobile trail and follow our own trail towards Grubbmyran where we go on the snomobile trail again for some kilometers after we leave it again and follow our own trail to Högnäset (73km) where we come on the lake Tåsjön. We follow the trail on the lake for about 10 km to Checkpoint Norråker.

The last stage we go out North from checkpoint Norråker and follow the snowmobile trail to Harrsjö and continue following the trail over flat terrain. After about 27km there is a steep descent to Högland where we cross the road. Just after the road crossing we go to the right and we cross a small road diagonally and go back on the snowmobile trail. From here it is about 8 km uphill to Blaikfjället (46km). Now we follow the trail over Blaikfjället for about 14km where the highest point is approximately 700m. This part can be challenging in bad weather conditions! From here we follow the snomobile trail for 15km back down to Västra-Ormsjö where cross the lake diagonal to Lövstrand (80km). From here we keep following the snowmobile trail for about 25km to the finish in Fjällsikten.

Finish: Fjällsikten – Tåsjöberget

In total, this year’s Amundsen Race 350 will be about 356 km.

At Jon-Bertelsbordarna we keep right to Nils-Erikstorpet where the AR350 goes left. Then we start climing up to Blaikfjället. Then we follow for about 7 km the snowmobile track before we go left down to Västra-Ormsjö, From here we follow the lake for 5km to Östra-Ormsjö where we cross the lake to Lövstrand. From here we follow the snowmobile tracks to Norrbygden and the Finish at Fjällsikten.

From Checkpoint Norråker we go out North on the snowmobile track. After about 7km we go right off the snowmobile trail and follow our own trail around Gåraträsksjön for about 8 km where we return on the snowmobile trail which we keep following to the finish i Fjällsikten.

In total, this year’s Amundsen Race 180 will be about 179 km.
