Information for participants in Amundsen Race and Amundsen DUO, a race where the elites of long distance driving
meet for the season's last tough challenge.
In order to be able to start Amundsen Race/Amundsen DUO one needs a valid race license, the dogs should be identity chipped and the driver should have signed and handed in a liability statement that he/she drives the race at own risk. Mushers with a Swedish race license also need to have the 'Green Card'.
Musher banquet in Röros is included in the entry fee. Others/handlers who want to attend the banquet can buy tickets at inchecking in Östersund before the start of the race.
An award for 'Best Dog Care' will be presented to the driver who shows best care to the dogs. The winner of the prize is decided by the racemarshal and veterinarian.
Be aware that since the race goes through both Sweden and Norway, the stricter Norwegian vaccination regulations apply, and the stricter Swedish doping regulations. In addition, the dogs are being examined by an veterinarian before the start of the race, according to Swedish rules. More detailed information can be read under veterinary information .
